Mad Mikie's Rants & Raves: More on Mayfield

One of the things that seems to have been missed or obviously ignored in the Mayfield deal is the fact that Jeremy Mayfield runs an animal rescue operation and has quite a number of dogs and other assorted animals on his property. Now, if he truly was the meth head that NA$CAR and the lamestream media have painted him as being, do you really think he’d have the money to support himself, his wife, have a staff to help him with the animals, much less run an animal rescue operation? Something to think about.

One of the things I noticed about this episode with Lisa Mayfield is that media outside of NA$CAR seems to have picked up on it. The uncontrolled national media. Folks who don’t have hard cards but reach millions of people. Although they’re treating this like some circus side show act or an episode of Jerry Springer, some of them are taking notice and it probably won’t be long before they start asking some real questions that Brian’s Big Top haven’t had to face in years. Questions that will make a lot of folks in the Ivory Towers very uneasy and very uncomfortable. Better find the Royal Binky Your Majesty. You’ll need it.

According to the Fox station that went in quest of the elusive real address of Lisa Mayfield, they came up with a tenant instead.

Records indicate Lisa Mayfield gave a home address in Statesville, but, that's not exactly what Fox News found when we arrived at 143 Taxidermy Road in Statesville.

William Eppinger says he rents the house from Lisa Mayfield's son. "I'm just the tenant yeah I rent it from her son and then he went to jail and then she showed up out of nowhere. We paid her rent and she was all like out of it." said, Eppinger

She was “all like out of it“? Sounds like she’s attending Intoxicated State University. Or maybe she got into the taxidermy supplies on Taxidermy Road. Going to jail seems to be a family tradition too. Like mother, like son I guess.

And it seems Lisa Mayfield’s lawyer has come up with an official excuse for her being drunk, assaulting the caretakers, and shouting racial slurs at the caretakers and their family: LINK
What a GREAT LAWYER. He admitted she was trespassing, admitted she was drunk and as she drove there that means she was DUI, which she can’t be charged for as she wasn’t caught in the act of driving there. And all for a cat? I don’t think so. And based on some other info, she was well over double the legal limit for alcohol when she was tested at the station. A couple glasses of wine my sweet patootie! Did the anchor women look like she was trying not to laugh?

And speaking of the leader is sports urinalysis coverage, just what the heck does “normalized” mean when it comes to drug testing? Going back over the test results for Mayfield done by both Aegis and Lab Corp, nowhere does Lab Corp mention anything about “normalizing” their test. Apparently, normalizing a urinalysis sample is something fairly new and as we all know, there are always problems with new tests and procedures, whether it’s testing out a new software program or changing procedures to be more efficient. Things aren’t always smooth. Based on what I’ve found out so far, it seems that Aegis Labs is the only drug testing lab that seems to be touting this normalization procedure. And what strikes me as odd is that the FDA, the Food and Drug Administration, doesn’t even recognize normalization for drug testing. So if the FDA doesn’t recognize it as a standard of drug testing, just how reliable is it? Here is a link to a drug related case which mentions “normalizing”. Now just to be clear here, I’m not advocating the smoking of marijuana or supporting it. But if this procedure is relatively new, you have to question just how valid it really is: LINK

And one thing I’ve noticed is how gas chromatography-mass spectrometry is being sited as being infallible when it comes to drug testing. Well, here’s something to the contrary from one on my “most favorite” organizations (NOT!), the ACLU:

Moreover, drug tests such as urinalysis can give false positive results, because they test for drug metabolites - inactive drug by-products that the body produces as it processes drugs for excretion - rather than for the presence of the drugs themselves. Poppy seeds notoriously can result in positives tests for morphine. Immunoassay, the less expensive common form of drug testing, often cannot distinguish between illegal drug metabolites and those generated by the consumption of over-the-counter decongestants and antihistamines. And even the more sophisticated, expensive GC/MS urinalysis test can turn up positive test results in response to legal prescription medications like codeine and marinol.

From researching several reliable medical web
sites, drug testing using human blood samples
is the most reliable. However, the problem with
this is with the legal system and the cost. It’s
not currently recognized by the Federal legal
system as an approved drug testing method. It’s
considered to be an invasive method of drug
testing and it cost more to do than the cheaper
urinalysis. Maybe if some of these drivers and
NA$CAR officials were tested using blood testing
methods rather than urinalysis, we might have
more innocent drivers, more suspended drivers,
and more fired officials, including some in the
Ivory Towers. Of course, His Royal Highness
would probably be declared a fire hazard due to the alcohol content in his blood system and couldn‘t be tested that way.

Something that Marc, a fellow race fan, brought to my attention:

Dr. Black himself said that a drug testing policy where the tester is judge and jury is wrong. He said himself in this article that they should only be a fact gatherer. Otherwise they are put in a position to need a second sample to show up positive to prove they were right the first time. LINK

Gee, I wonder how this would play in Poughkeepsie? Has Dr. Black once again stepped on his penis? I guess well see come September 2010.

You’ve just gotta love Lisa Mayfield. 4 outstanding warrants, a speeding ticket, assault, trespassing, public intoxication, false address on court papers, and shouting derogatory ethnic slurs at Mayfield‘s staff. What’s she going to do for her next act? Ram a vehicle into Mayfield’s gate or house? Boy, Faux King Brian sure knows how to pick a winner. If she doesn’t know what the bottom of a bus looks like right now, she will when Mayfield’s lawsuit against NA$CAR comes to trial. I wonder if Faux King Brian promised to make her a Sprint Girl after the case was over? Or the next future ex Mrs. Faux King Brian? Hey, they can have matching outfits for their wedding. Orange jumpsuits. Big Bubba can be the Best
