UPDATE FROM Sthpaulsix: The only problem was the traffic after the Sun. race, but HEY, there's only one way out when you're in just about the southernmost part of the U.S.
FROM US: Traffic has clear enough to leave the track in less than 2 hurs BUT the Turnpike was real bad even though they had all the tolls opened to drive right thru to help.

4.3 Southern Comfort RV Resort BLACK FLAG FROM US: This placed sucked. The only reason I am leaving them on my site is to let other fans know that this place SUCKED!!!!! Brain and Jamie arrived on Thursday afternoon. They had reserved the spot and paid for it months in advance. They informed the people working there that they had one tent and one car and when we got there we would have one tent and one car. The guy said he didn't care about all of that he only needed to know how many people would be staying. So Brian paid the original price for a marked off, numbered spot. He paid the additional charge for each of us. This was in the rules they handed out. The problem comes later. We arrived Saturday morning and setup our tent right away. At 11:00 THAT NIGHT, 12 hours later, they come up and said we didn't pay for 2 tents and had to take one down! They would not let us just pay for the second tent even though no where on the rules did it say one tent per spot. Now our 2 tents didn't take up any more room than our neighbor behind us who had one large 10 man tent. We were not encroaching on either of our neighbor's sites. I have never had to pay for a marked numbered spot and then pay for each tent on that spot. I have either paid per tent and car or paid per spot.
BLACK FLAG #2: The restroom toilets did not flush all weekend. When we went to complain we were told the main line in the town broke, which was a lie since the toilets did the same thing the year before.

HOMESTEAD SPEEDWAY CAMPING
FROM TEXAS KEVIN: The camping at the track was pretty good the sites were 25 X 45 and it was fairly calm as far as people getting crazy. They told us when we arrived that the camping was going to reserved next year. We felt a little out of place with all huge motorhomes that were there. There had to be 15 - 20 motorhomes for every pull behind camper and the majority of them were the $200 - 300k motorhomes. They had a lot of corporate things set up outside the track and it was probably the same as Texas but you had half the crowd so it wasn't so crowded. The odd thing was they were all inside the gates so you had to have a ticket just to get to all the free stuff. I thought the track itself was great and we had a great view of all the track sitting 25 rows up. They don't have any infield camping so you don't have all the RV's blocking your view. The nearest store we found was about 3 miles west on Palm Dr. and business US 1. There are plenty of fuel stations on this corner and a super Wal-Mart just up US 1 north about a 1/2 mile on the right.

Raceway Ministries will sponsor activities for the fans at the RV Lot walkway at the track. On Sunday, a chapel service will be held at 9:00am.
